I was red

I was red when he fell in love with me,

Wrapped with my mother’s blood.

He clenched me in his hands, every touch of me he sensed,

That day he held me in his heart, like a divine body.

I was red when he fell in love with me,

When I locked myself up crying over misery,

He screamed my name walking through the door of my dignity,

Hugged me and showed me the goddess hidden within.

I was red when he fell in love with me,

Walking me through the aisle holding my hands,

I saw him shattering, clasping me tighter,

Looking in his eyes he said, “are you in love with her too after seeing her in red?”

I was red when he fell in love with me,

But he fell for another girl this time,

And held her hand and said here comes my divine baby,

I’ll love you in red too.
