Rewarding myself

The palm plant that I’ve kept beside my bed,

it’s a gift for the pain that I’ve had.

Laughing at sin that I’ve committed,

all I knew was I should be this.

For sometimes I made myself look like a fool,

but you were smitten even when I didn’t play it cool.

When I was hurt, I was chuckling

the rain poured in my land, I wasn’t just hurting.

I looked up in the sky, there was no cloud but stars intertwined.

These days of summers with the night,

it’s all a reward for me, even when I fight.

All the past wasn’t kind, but I am happy that I am a knight.

Sword distracts me, I wanna fight,

with the warriors I survived.

The future will be fine, I know it, I haven’t decided.

Good, I did, will all pay off someday.
