I choose to be vicious

Where would I go with kindness wrapped around me

when demons are surrounding me?

The lady sweeping had an ugly past too,

she was too strong to be losing herself

even when they weren’t kind to her.

I choose to be vicious this time,

I’ll damage their world before they destroy mine.

Too beautiful heart I owned, they took it for granted,

here I am standing with so many bruises, they couldn’t see.

I buried my grace, will you now ask me for mercy?

Given too much space for them, I couldn’t breathe!

Left them showing with no consistency.

Murkier than the night you told I was,

I said you were the moon,

you will now fear the darkness to go.
