Maze

That maze took me to a place that I never went before,

terrified by dreams that I thought

would take me to the realm of glamour.

I wanted to reality take over my suffering.

I tried to survive, I wanted myself out of that nightmare,

a man holding the needle came closer.

I ran towards a place I thought would be safe,

it was more terrifying than fiction.

He came closer to me, like those people I feared,

I whined as he was unapologetic about the destruction.

The alarm kept safe my soul, didn’t wake me

but bestowed me a new existence.

I now fear sleeping as I would still be stuck in that maze,

And then I realize it has become my actuality.
