Connecting through book

Every page was taking me through their lives,

I once was a character that was a deity,

and the demon in the next line.

Every name that was written connected with my soul,

I wasn’t the human who was flipping through the book.

Whimpered when the lover was in a struggle to save his suitor,

I was living every word and even the unseen expression.

Lost in the tale, numb and still, the last word wasn’t uttered

but a sign of sorrow, I didn’t yearn for something

more than the book to never end.

I made it my life, I was in love for the first time,

he was coming closer to me, and the last sentence was,

“the prince left, leaving her in utmost sadness.”
